There are natural dietary cure for acne. In fact, researches and studies in the possible causes for acne breakout has indeed directed the people to believe that carbohydrates which has high glycemic index can act as the possible reason of acne breakout. Carbohydrate foods which increase the insulin levels in our system influence the development of acne. If one increases the intake of protein food and lowers the consumption of carbohydrate food, it can improve on the acne breakouts.

Professor Mann, and other scholars like Robyn Smith, from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, conducted this study on the 43 subjects who were males and between the ages 15 to 25. They divided the groups into two and gave them foods with a low glycemic index and the other group with foods of high glycemic index. They observed through their study that the only natural dietary cure for acne could be balanced diet with foods of low glycemic index. The study has been accepted and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in July 2007.

The high glycemic foods include white bread, white pasta, sugar potatoes, sugary drinks etc. these foods cause increase in blood sugar level after their consumption. Therefore the insulin level spike up as also the skin starts to produce for oil at this particular level, which further aggravates the situation. Besides carbohydrate foods one should also avoid certain other foods from their daily diet.

Foods to Avoid: Oily foods or foods which have high amount of saturated and Trans-fats are the major foods to avoid. Saturated foods are most commonly found in animal products such as meats and dairy. Besides these, one should stay away from chocolates and sugary foods such as candy. It is also commonly believed among experts that tea and coffee increase the development of acne among the subjects.

Foods to Try: Even if it is best to avoid animal products, our body needs a healthy dose of fatty acids for regular functions. As such, one should replenish the requirement of fatty acids through intake of fish, hempseed oil or flaxseed.

Besides healthy balanced diet and proper nutrients from vegetables and fruits, one needs proper intake of fiber rich foods as well as vitamins and mineral. These three are the key ingredients for making your skin healthy. Fiber rich foods are essential for clearing plague deposited in the colon which acts as a possible cove to harmful bacteria which is responsible for causing bacteria. These bacteria do not directly affect the skin but it changes the body’s ambience by releasing harmful toxin substance which in turn causes infection and rashes.
